資深訓犬師謝師傅 Alam 親手製造 ( Hand Made ) 狗繩，採用高韌度尼龍 ( Nylon )，此物料具有很好的伸縮性，因抗張度很高，適合製造尼龍絲襪、釣魚線、魚網，網球拍，專業狗繩等。

Handmade by veteran canine trainer Alam, these leashes are made of high-tensile Nylon. Nylon has a very high tensile strength, as well as being very resistant to wear and tear. Nylon is used to produce products such as fishing lines, fishing nets, tennis rackets, and of course, professional dog leashes.

現時部份犬繩以仿皮或真皮製作，但倆者均有其不足之處是拉力不足，犬隻搶繩時力量爆發強，仿皮或真皮未必能承受強大拉力而斷裂。 漁民一般以纖維壓縮而成尼龍製造拖網，原因在於其抗張力強及高韌度的特性，可承受爆炸性拉扯，而耐力持久。謝師傅 Alam 製造時採用 5mm~16mm 高韌度尼龍製造繩，運用純熟的技巧及密集迮式織成，它們的拉扯力，可以承受到數百磅，適合不同體形犬隻。

Nowadays some dog leashes are made of leather or synthetic leather, but both have the shortcoming of lack of tensile strength. When dogs take off and pull on these leashes, the material might not be able to sustain such forces and tear, or break.

Fishermen adopt nylon for the making of their nets and fishing lines, the reason being that the material possesses high tensile strength, and they are very durable. They can sustain continuous, explosive tension without sustaining damage. In the making of professional dog leashes, Alam uses high tensile nylon of 5mm – 16mm thickness. With his skills, he densely weaves the material into leashes which can sustain several hundred pounds of tension, ideal for dogs of any size.

纖維壓縮而成的尼龍，通常時白色，優點是圓滑光澤，耐磨耐用，且去越用越靚，在於訓練犬隻期間，初階層牠們未能適應訓練方式，經常會出現撲身或搶繩，訓練員不時需要應付爆發性的拉力，頻密地做拉扯動作，因此；圓滑耐磨的狗繩便成了保護訓練員雙手的【不燒手】功臣。

Made of compressed fibre, nylon is white in colour, smooth to the touch, very resistant to wear and tear. And it becomes smoother the longer it is being used. In the early stages of training, dogs are not yet accustomed to the training methods and dashing and pulling will happen frequently, which can give serious rope burns. Therefore, a tough and smooth professional dog leash will avoid rope burns.

現時市場上大部份銅扣均採用電鍍色，裝製成電金、青金、紅金等…，但電色會出現氣氧化情況，而 Alam 謝師傅製繩全部採用純正銅扣，光澤耐磨，色澤越用越靚。

In today’s market, most clippers which connect the dog leash to the collar / choke chain are electroplated with materials of different colors, which will change in color and / or rust when oxidized. With professional dog leashes made by Alam, all clippers are made with solid brass. These are extremely durable and are very resistant to oxidization..

1. 謝師傅建議學訓練犬隻人士用 42 吋至 48 吋長度狗繩最有效，但若出街拖狗用，2 至3 呎便足夠了。
   

2. 25 磅以下小型狗用 5mm ~ 8mm 繩。 25 ~ 100 磅大型狗用 10mm ~ 12mm 繩。 100 磅以上特大型狗用 16mm 繩。

1. Alam suggests using a dog leash of 42” to 48” long is the most suitable for dog training purpose. Dog leash for walks should be around 2’ to 3’ long.。

2. Small dogs below 25 pounds are suggested to use dog leashes of 5mm – 8mm thick Medium to large dogs at around 25 – 100 pounds are suggested to use dog leashes of 10mm – 12mm thick.
   Large dogs at weight greater than 100 pounds are suggested to use dog leashes of 16mm thick.
